A review of Da Mario Pizzeria by Callisto1275 written on Friday 17th of July 2009
A friend and I were looking forward to a quite meal 16/07/09. I hadn't visited Da Marios for several years but it had always held a special place in my memory.
Lastnight I couldn't even catch the eye of a waiter to order a drink. When I finally managed to order an orange juice and lemonade, a glass of slightly odd tasting lemonade turned up. Not wishing to make a fuss I left it at that.
Next to catch the eye of the waitress /waiter to order. I got the attention of the guy who brought the wrong drink and gestured I wanted to order. He nodded towards the waiter chatting to two young women at the next table and carried on polishing his glasses.
The waiter at the next table continued to chat up the girlies, even when the first waiter brought over their drinks he didn't mention we were waiting to the chatter upper.
After waiting another 5 minutes, we paid for our drinks and left. The first waiter took our payment, seemed surprised that we only had two soft drinks ( £3.30 in total) but did not say anything.
I will never set foot in the establishment again. The staff were rude, surly and of little use. Had the resaurant been full I could have understood having to wait a while but there were 12 people in there.
The lesson is clear, if you're young attractive girls then the staff seem to fawn over you, others, are left to twiddle their thumbs. Never again!.
