"A traditional welcoming place to stay"

We visited at the end of Jan and got one of their 'winter warmer' deals, which was good value for money.

Located about 10 mins walk, either along river, through lovely gardens, or along main road, to the centre.

Ideal for York Minster and sightseeing, and also for shopping, and The Shambles. Also near St Olave's.

Our room was tastefully decorated - traditional furniture and lovely decor. We had a double, and single bed, and also a couch in our room. En-suite was good size too.

Breakfast was excellent. Cereals, fruits, toast, REAL Java coffee, and a full english breakfast, which all provided a good start to the day.

We were made very welcome, and little touches like cotton buds, cotton wool, paper hankies, alarm clock and lovely plants, all made it more homely too.

We would recommend this place to anyone, as it was clean, welcoming and handy for everything. The only drawback may be if you are a female on your own, it wouldn't be so pleasant walking down the avenues at night, or under the rail tunnel (very short). It would be okay if you were with a friend though..
