A review of Abbey Grange C Of E High School by Andy Limbert written on Tuesday 27th of September 2016
Reading Robert Wilson’s review of the first day at Abbey Grange, brings many happy memories flooding back.
It really was a great school, for many reasons, least among which were the teaching staff.
The time and dedication given to both in school and out of school activities, by a large number of the teaching staff, helped us to achieve both academically, and to enjoy the time we spent together.
In particular I must mention both Peter Knight and Sam Tempest, who took us on many an adventure, into the Dales and the Lake District.
Through their encouragement I grew to love the great outdoors, and to this day, both Lynda and I enjoy walking in the Lakes, Black Mountains and the Highlands of Scotland.
I married Lynda (Nee Newman), who was in the second year’s intake, in 1972, we have two grown up children and two granddaughters.
I would love to hear from Robert Ian Hudson David Ross John Flint and any others who were with us in the 1960s
