A review of D P S Plumbing & Heating by R Clarke written on Saturday 7th of March 2015

I contacted DPS plumbing & heating yesterday and had work carried out by David Shelley (the proprietor) today. It was my first contact with this firm.
I have an old cottage & a bathroom with roll-top bath and old brass globe taps & old original brass taps on the sink basin too. I'd been unable to change the washers myself as the taps had become seized up and one tap in particular had been gushing cold water. I had originally contacted David about the gushing tap only which David had quoted me £25 in advance of the job. Due to the time it took to unseize the taps it took him about 50 mins.He kept to the £25 price despite changing the washers for all four taps in the bathroom (bath and sink).
I also asked him about possibly fitting a shower. Despite the fact that he could have had potential new work (his firm also do bathroom & kitchen installations), he said he wouldn't recommend this given my type of bath as he'd seen too many examples of water splashing on to the floor and ruining ceilings below where showers were fitted above roll-top baths.
It is good to find a plumber who is happy to give honest advice. I will be a returning customer and certainly from today's experience could recommend him. I came across his firm from a magazine called "On Your Doorstep".
