A review of The Broadway by Chris westwood written on Saturday 10th of November 2007
Good guest beers
good wine at good prices
fantastic live bands on a Saturday: 'the Standards' are a great mod/punk outfit.
a wide range of clientelle in a friendly atmosphere.
The Broadway is a pleasant place all round with tasteful decor and different drinking social environments from leather settees in the main area to an open plan tap room /games room.
I go every saturday and I live at the other side of Leeds.
One black mark: The walls have pictures of Rugby Union player Jonny Wilkinson on the walls. South Leeds is a RUGBY LEAGUE area and shoiuld reflect this in it's sports oriented tap room.
A lot of hard work has gone in to make the Broadway, situated in a deprived area of the city into a friendly, welcoming cosmopolitan boozer.
Their catering for private parties is great value-I've been to several celebrations and commisearations there and they do a sound job. never eaten from the pub menu though.
