A review of Royal Mail by Leeds resident written on Friday 9th of August 2013
Friday 9th. August 2013.
Just found a Royal Mail card behind front door, informing me that a parcel was too big for the letterbox and could be collected from the depot tomorrow.
I had heard the letterbox rattle, indicating a mail drop, and when I went to look I found the card.
The delivery man had filled in the time as 13:45. When I went back into my kitchen, my computer was showing 13:44!!!
Obviously, if I could hear the letterbox, I would be able to hear a knock or the (very loud) doorbell. The driver didn't do either. Not the first time this has happened.
Much more serious was a parcel from Australia in which 3 vases were smashed. I never saw these items as the depot returned the parcel to the seller. She contacted me to say that when the parcel arrived all 3 vases were smashed to pieces. But, oddly, the delivery man had not left a card so I'd no idea that the parcel had arrived in the UK. The Holbeck depot was not at all helpful, and although the seller gave me a refund, I had to pay fees on the transaction. The only scenario that makes sense of them not leaving a card, is that the driver knew the items were smashed and took them straight back to the depot, from where the parcel was returned to sender.
in which 3 .
