I went to Intro hair after purchasing a KGB deal for a cut, finish, treatment and full head colour for £29.99. Prior appointment, I rang up and told them the current colour of my hair and condition and asked if they would be able to make it blonde during the single appointment. They stated they would try.

I had a little problem finding the venue; however, it is located on a busy road. I parked my car in a residential area not too far away, but be carful as most streets require resident parking badges. Many buses drove down the main road, making it quite accessible.

I was quite late for my appointment but no fuss was made. I was greeted by a rather friendly chap who spent a lot of time with me discussing my hair cut and colour. Once seeing my hair, he was unsure whether blonde was a feasible option in one appointment due to the red al ready there, however, they conducted a test to see if the red would lift out. This was not an option they were willing to take as the results I desired would not have produced, perhaps a more ginger version of what I wanted. Therefore, I settled for a vibrant red.

I was due to goon holiday the following week and had concerns that the red would fade dramatically in the sun, sea and chlorine. The stylist recommended some slightly expensive options but then offered to put some of the colour toner into a shampoo bottle to be used on holiday to maintain the redness all for a much reduced £5. I was also recommended macadamia oil to reduce the drying to my hair. I am not usually one to buy things at a hairdresser, but it didn’t seem like a complete sales pitch and I was short on time so I purchased that, also for £5. You would not guess I had been in the Spanish sun for 10days, my hair is free of split ends and still soft and though the red did fade, it wasn’t as pronounced as I had expected.

What I didn’t realise was that there was a beauty salon down stairs and made comment that I wished I booked to have some treatments whilst waiting form my hair colour to develop as I was not going to have time before my holiday. The staff arranged for their beautician to come from one of their other sites especially to give me a bikini wax, which I thought was great considering it meant the senior stylist had to leave the salon to provide her transport! The wax itself was the best I had ever had. She was very quick, over in 5minutes and not a trace of unwanted hair left- very impressed!

I don’t usually like my hair cut straight away when using a new stylist, but I did this time. He consulted me on several occasions to ensure he was cutting it to my liking.

All throughout, the staffs were very friendly, offered magazines and refreshments.

The downsides were that quite a bit of colour was left around my face, and were unable to remove it in the salon, so had to live with that for a few days. Not good as I was going straight to work after the salon. Also, a staff member had left them short leaving no one to man the phones and see to clients so my treatment as constantly interrupted and took much longer than expected causing me to have to call work and advise I would be late.

Overall, it was a positive experience and I would recommend to others.
