"Jack(John ) Lowther BEM"

Jack Lowther was my grandad and awarded the BEM for his services to the union, he was based at Skelton Grange, and the award was made approx. 1960 ish.

Anyone have any info, I would like to know how it came about he was nominated, for what etc, I have always known it was for services to the union, but would like to know some of the things he did and his achievements. You can email me valhella1@sky.com.
