A review of Swillington Primary School by Parent written on Thursday 7th of January 2010
It has been on Radio Aires website. This morning(Thurs) i was sent a text from school 15 mins before breakfast club was due to open. We had already left the house! Why are schools closed? If i didn't make it to work i would not get paid. I wonder if the teachers get paid for staying at home. Every other part of the city is working. Supermarkets are open and well stocked, the post man has not missed and i have had deliveries from couriers. If you give yourself lots of extra time for journeys and for preparing your car most people can get to work. Public transport is the best way. Buses seem to be running and the council is doing a great job at gritting and snow ploughing the main roads.
The knock-on effect of parents having to take unpaid leave to stay at home with children must be costing the country a forture.
